CCM students take the stage at The Carnegie in Northern Kentucky this summer

What do a cast of classic children's characters, a Pulitzer Prize-winning musical and the tale of an immigrant who would become one of the biggest bootleggers (and local legends) in history all have in common? They’ll all be making their way to The Carnegie in Northern Kentucky this summer with nearly 20 CCM students, alumni and faculty members in the cast and crew.

CCM alum Evan Gidley named executive director of Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra

One of Cincinnati’s most popular performing ensembles is welcoming new leadership this summer, and there’s a CCM connection: alumnus Evan Gidley (MM Saxophone Performance, ‘18) was recently named executive director of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. An independent ensemble of 32 professional musicians, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra (CCO) launched the critically acclaimed “Summermusik” festival in August 2015.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at modern dance training at UC's College-Conservatory of Music, courtesy of the new Backstage at CCM documentary series. This mini-documentary takes viewers inside CCM's Modern Dance Tech Class, taught by Shauna Steele, Associate Professor and Chair of Dance at CCM. The video was filmed before UC's mask mandate was lifted. It is produced by UC students as part of CCM's Production Master Class, taught by Melissa Godoy.

Award-winning cellist Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir joins CCM’s faculty

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Stanley E. Romanstein has announced the addition of Icelandic cellist Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. Thorsteinsdóttir’s appointment as Assistant Professor of Cello begins on Aug. 15, 2022.
