A penny saved will earn applause for College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning students who have created fun fashions using only $10 worth of thrift-store items each. The students' work will be displayed at a runway show at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley.

During two recent co-op quarters at Warner Brothers Pictures, UC digital design student Tim King was able to focus on his skills. He created or contributed to the Web sites associated with the recently released films Corpse Bride, A Sound of Thunder, Constantine and House of Wax, as well as next year s Superman Returns and Happy Feet.

For the 7th straight year, UC is named as having the number one interior design program in the nation! Similarly, the architecture program and the industrial design program are each ranked as number two in the entire nation.

Though still just a student, University of Cincinnati graphic design senior Zach Norman has already made first string in his profession. He s on a co-op right now helping create designs that will be used on site (and visible on television) for the Super Bowl in Detroit on Feb. 5.

Craig Vogel, director of the Center of Design, Research and Innovation at the University of Cincinnati, is the teacher s teacher in the eyes of employers across the nation. While giving top marks to UC s design programs, these employers also singled out Craig on a short list of America s best design professors all in recognition of his teaching, writing and international consulting regarding how to make perfect products.
