The 13th Annual Queen City Blood Drive takes over the Duke Energy Convention Center on Feb. 13 & 14

Hoxworth Blood Center, the Cincinnati Cyclones, and Duke Energy Convention Center Join Forces in Honoring Lifesaving Blood Donors!

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Cyclones partner for the 13th annual Queen City Blood Drive on Tuesday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 14.

The two-day event will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center at 525 Elm Street from 11:30am - 6:00pm on Feb. 13 and 10:00am - 4:30pm on Feb. 14. All donors who make a lifesaving donation will walk away with a FREE Queen City logo long sleeve T-shirt, a voucher for two Cincinnati Cyclones tickets, a voucher for a free Donatos Pizza, a bag from Flying Pig Marathon (while supplies last), a Cincinnati Cyclones Replica Jersey, and one ticket to the Cincinnati Zoo!

“We’re thrilled to be back with the Cincinnati Cyclones at the Duke Energy Convention Center for the 13th annual Queen City Blood Drive,” says Jackie Marschall, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. “This partnership inspires hundreds of donors to show up and save lives to help support our community and the patients we serve. We can’t thank the Cyclones and their fans more for helping us forward our mission in saving lives close to home.”

Additionally, February 14 marks National Donor Day, observed annually to spread awareness and education about organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation. National Donor Day was started in 1998 and is supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Last year Hoxworth collected more than 100,000 units of blood and facilitated over 450 solid organ transplants in partnership with LifeCenter to regional recipients, which would not have been possible without the selfless act of donors. Hoxworth supplies all local hospitals with life-saving blood products and encourages individuals to donate blood in honor of National Donor Day.

Complimentary parking for the Queen City Blood Drive is also available and provided by SP+ Parking at the Plum/Convention Garage located at 605 Plum Street.

All donation appointments for the blood drive are FULL, however, Hoxworth will be accepting walk-ins on both days. Please allow extra time due to the popularity of the event. For more information, visit hoxworth.org/queencity or call 513-451-0910.
