Cincinnati Public Radio WGUC 90.9 invited UC College-Conservatory of Music classical guitar students Wesley Weidig and Luke Jackson to give a live performance in the radio station’s Corbett Studio in December. The performance is now available on WGUC’s Clef Notes blog.

Cincinnati news station FOX 19 interviewed UC College-Conservatory of Music E-Media Professor Hagit Limor about the innovative “Hope After Hate” project she is leading at CCM. Inspired by her own father’s experience during the Holocaust, Limor set out to create an immersive theatre and virtual reality project that shares his story with lessons to inspire action against acts of hatred and bigotry today.

Congratulations to two UC College-Conservatory of Music students who are semi-finalists in the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, which is recognized as the premier event of its kind. When the virtual competition resumes in August, rising sophomore Caroline Habig will compete in the tuba student division and second-year master’s student Xianquan will compete in the tuba artist division.

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music graduate Leslie Dunner (DMA Orchestral Conducting, ’82) conducted the premiere of Anthony Davis’ The Central Park Five last June with California’s Long Beach Opera. In May, the opera won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Music.
