The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) announces the creation of an annual competition for wind players in memory of Cincinnati Symphony principal bassoonist and long-time faculty member, William O. Winstead. The inaugural competition will culminate with finalists vying for cash prizes in a public performance scheduled for spring 2022.

UC's College-Conservatory of Music is proud to present alumni and distinguished service awards to outstanding members of our community at the end of each academic year. The 2022 awards are presented to five accomplished alumni and one dedicated patron in a private virtual event as well as during the college's Graduation Convocation Ceremony. The CCM Wind Symphony closes their 2023-24 season with “Urban Requiem,” a concert that contemplates the complex emotions of endings while celebrating the life-affirming sounds of a big band. Joined by the members of the Hinotori Saxophone Quartet and the Lakota East High School Winds, the Wind Symphony’s final concert features Michael Colgrass’s “Urban Requiem,” for four saxes and wind orchestra and Steven Bryant’s blockbuster “Concerto for Wind Ensemble.” Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

CCM students can now access counseling services within the CCM Village thanks to the addition of a CAPS embedded clinician. A member of UC’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff, Dalziel Reliford-Stone (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision (LPCC-S) who will serve as an embedded clinician for CCM and DAAP. In this new position, Dalziel hopes to work with students and staff to support a culture that embraces authenticity, self-acceptance and wholeness.
