National award recognizes professor's contribution to developmental education

Victoria Appatova - UC Clermont Faculty & Staff

Victoria Appatova

University of Cincinnati Clermont College Professor of English Victoria Appatova has been elected as a Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations (CLADEA) Fellow. The award recognizes her significant achievement in the field of post-secondary learning assistance and developmental education.

The CLADEA Fellows Program honors the excellence of top practitioners, policymakers, researchers, teachers and administrators in the field. Despite having around 100,000 educators in the discipline, only 69 individuals, including Appatova, have received this esteemed accolade to date.

Appatova boasts more than 30 years of experience and has held influential roles in various organizations, making her a standout candidate for the highest honor in the United States for professionals in learning assistance, tutoring and developmental education. The induction ceremony is scheduled for March 18 at the ACTP Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
