UC Diet Study Published in National Journal

A recent study conducted at UC found that a low carbohydrate (Atkins) diet was more effective than a low fat, calorie-controlled diet for short-term weight loss. The study, is published in the April issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Allied Health to Sponsor Health-Related Majors Expo

The College of Allied Health Sciences is sponsoring a Health-Related Majors Expo in the West Campus Events Pavilion on April 29. Participating colleges include Allied Health Sciences, Education, Medicine and Nursing, along with the Career Development Center, the Pre-Professional Advising Center and the Health Careers Information Center.

Pharmacy Dean Named Chair of FDA Advisory Board

Daniel Acosta, Jr., PhD, dean of the UC College of Pharmacy, was reappointed to serve as chair of the Science Advisory Board to the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
