CCM shares 2022 alumni and distinguished service awards

The 2022 awards are presented to five accomplished alumni and one dedicated patron in a private virtual event as well as during the college's Graduation Convocation Ceremony. UC Law announces new co-chairs for Women in Law alumnae group

Janetta Brewer ’06 and Rebecca Zemmelman ’16 will serve as co-chairs of the Women in Law alumni group, a philanthropic group made up of College of Law alumnae that funds a spectrum of faculty and student-led programs at the College of Law.

Gift names new UC College of Law building atrium

A University of Cincinnati alumnus has made a gift of $500,000 to the new University of Cincinnati College of Law building. H.C. Buck Niehoff, JD ’72, HON ’11, is honoring his former law firm, Peck, Shaffer & Williams LLP, by naming the two-story atrium.

Engineering alum sees K-12 educators as the path to STEM diversity

Keonte Alexander, CECH ’22, is accustomed to mentoring and caring for others. He’s a father and a science and math teacher at William Howard Taft Elementary School in Cincinnati Public Schools. He became interested in serving youth while earning his associate degree at Cincinnati State and working at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati. A tour of the University of Cincinnati’s campus with Club teens piqued his interest.

Michael Valentine’s career as an innovator and entrepreneur has spanned more than four decades, and has included the creation of an industry-changing radar detector and two successful companies, Cincinnati Microwave, and his current business, Valentine Research. Through the years, Mike and his wife, Peg — both UC alumni — have become prodigious philanthropists at the University of Cincinnati and within the region, giving of their time and treasure to many causes close to their hearts.

Alumnus gift creates new endowed chair to support mental health and substance abuse disorder care

A University of Cincinnati Emergency Medicine Residency Program alumnus has made a gift that will support a faculty position in the Department of Emergency Medicine focused on the research and treatment of substance abuse. The generosity of Shawn A. Ryan, MD, MBA ’10, supports the Emergency Medicine Endowed Chair to Benefit the Acute Treatment of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder.
