Musical America: CCM faculty artist featured in upcoming virtual concert

UC College-Conservatory of Music Professor of Flute Demarre McGill will join his brother, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and pianist Michael McHale for a performance featuring works for duos and trios at 5:30 pm on Dec. 6. The concert is hosted by the Shriver Hall Concert Series in Baltimore but will be broadcast on the venue’s website from Dec. 6 through Dec. 9.

CCM Piano faculty give recital for U.S. Library of Congress

December 14, 2020

UC College-Conservatory of Music Piano Professors Soyeon Kate Lee and Ran Dank recently gave a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, as arranged by Franz Liszt, for the U.S. Library of Congress. The December 12 concert recording will be cataloged and preserved in the library for generations to come.

Healthy Business Council of Ohio honors UC’s employee wellness program

The Healthy Business Council of Ohio (HBCO) will recognize 100 Ohio employers for healthy worksite practices during the virtual In-Value-Able Virtual Conference Series in February 2021. Among the recipients being honored is the University of Cincinnati's employee wellness program, Be Well UC.

Professor aims to improve energy efficiency in buildings

Amanda Webb, assistant professor of architectural engineering at the University of Cincinnati, is committed to making the buildings in which we live and work more energy efficient. Her research work centers on improving energy performance in modern buildings and how to effectively retrofit historic buildings to preserve them while improving energy use. Webb was named the 2020 recipient of the New Investigator Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
