Kaltura improvements support accessible content for all UC learners
Captions and updated Canvas video player coming to Kaltura
Digital Technology Solutions, or DTS, will turn on Automatic Speech Recognition transcripts and captions in Kaltura, Tuesday, April 30. On Thursday, May 2, DTS will update the Kaltura video player in Canvas.
What you can expect
After May 2, the new version offers an improved user interface.
- The improved user interface includes updated function icons, and the transcript will be to the right of the video. Read more about the improved interface in the UC Knowledge Base.
All content uploaded to Kaltura after April 30 will auto-process ASR captions.
- The Kaltura video player sets captions to the off position by default. Select the Closed Captioning (cc) button along the bottom of the Kaltura video player to view captions while the video plays.
