The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music has once again been named as one of Playbill’s “Big 10.” Ranked as one of the top star-producing institutions in the nation, CCM was represented by at least 24 alumni performing on Broadway stages during the ’22-23 season.

Many students at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music balance a rigorous performance schedule with their studies — pushing the boundaries of traditional classroom experiences to turn CCM stages into their own creative laboratories. In orchestral performances, one could consider the conductor as the "lead scientist" who guides the ensemble during a concert, but Michael Patterson explains the magic on stage is a group effort.

CCM's "stars of tomorrow" are back on stage, and you get the best seats in the house! The third episode of CCMONSTAGE Online is now available for on-demand viewing. Originally broadcast on Friday, March, 19, "Together/Apart" is an hour-long virtual concert featuring the CCM Chamber Choir under the direction of accomplished new faculty member Joe Miller, who was named the director of CCM's lauded Choral Studies program in 2020.

CCM's collegiate and preparatory ensembles celebrate the holidays with a variety of upcoming performances! CCM's winter holiday concerts include the Jazz Nutcracker on Nov. 19 and Feast of Carols on Dec. 2 and 3.

The Ariel Quartet presents its final CCM concert of the 2023-24 season at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. The program includes two of the most beloved works in the chamber music canon: Beethoven’s intense Op. 59 No. 1 and Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet in B Minor, featuring faculty artist Pavel Vinnitsky. The Ariel Quartet, UC College-Conservatory of Music’s String Quartet-in-Residence, continues its season Tuesday, Nov 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Werner Recital Hall. Alessio Bax, the award-winning Italian pianist, joins Ariel for the program’s finale: Dvořák’s Piano Quintet in A major, widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of the form. The Ariel Quartet returns to the stage 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall at CCM. Titled “Cetera Desunt: The rest is missing,” the program features the eponymous string quartet by Lera Auerbach, as well as the composer’s string quartet No. 10, “Frozen Dreams” and Schubert’s beloved “Trout” Quintet.
