The University of Cincinnati started sending financial aid package letters out on April 26 and by the first week of May had offered information to 94% of first-year students who applied for it. Ever since he was a child, Joseph Cortas was enthralled by the energy of construction sites. While his initial fascination centered on large trucks, his childhood interest sent him down a path of professional and personal discovery. Today, Cortas is a fourth-year student concurrently pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering through the ACCEND accelerated degree program at the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS).

On March 22, 2024, in the Health Sciences Building on the University of Cincinnati campus, students from various programs across two colleges gathered for a collaborative event aimed at providing hands-on training for students pursuing a variety of careers in the field of education. It was the second event of its kind this academic year following a similar collaboration in fall 2023.

UC faculty develop new platform for students to track scholarship criteria and monetize their name, image and likeness (NIL) for branding purposes. Carbon Copy Assets will launch a mobile application where students earn badges and rewards for verifying their participation at campus events like career fairs, student club meetings and volunteer opportunities. Students will also prove that they are building job and life skills such as financial and legal literacy. A blockchain will record these activities, allowing donors and employers to view a publicly verifiable, immutable list of achievements.

Many communication and public relations majors have careers in mind before they graduate from college, but few may aspire to careers in logistics. But Nick Reasoner, who graduated from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences with degrees in both, forged his path there, and went on to found TransLoop, an award-winning third-party logistics firm. Headquartered in Chicago, TransLoop now has five additional locations, from Nashville to Ft. Lauderdale to Denver. Since its founding, the company has taken the number 12 spot on Inc. 5000’s list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America, and Reasoner has been named to Business Elite’s 40 Under 40.
