The University of Cincinnati’s annual Black History Month celebration is back and better than ever. This year’s celebration has been renamed Black FUTURE Month by organizers, and includes something for everyone—from tours of historical Black churches to cosplays to Drink n’ Thinks, field trips and food.

What is Africana Studies?

In the Africana studies major within UC’s College of Arts and Sciences, you will explore a variety of approaches to understand the experiences of African, African American, Afro-Latin, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-European populations globally. This interdisciplinary program blends tools from sociology, psychology, literature, anthropology, politics, and history to address social issues affecting people of African descent across continents and diasporas.

Women’s Center wins national award for Black Feminist Symposium

University of Cincinnati’s Black Feminist Symposium has been recognized nationally for its commitment to intersectional feminism and inventive strategies to address the emergent and changing needs of the campus community. UC has received the Outstanding Women’s and Gender Equity Center Program Award from the National Women’s Studies Association.
