1000Zebras joins forces with 1819 Innovation Hub

A branded marketplace uniting innovation and commerce

For startups and seasoned entrepreneurs, the right solutions can be game changers, simplifying operations, fostering efficient collaboration and providing specialized knowledge.

As a new startup partner of the 1819 Innovation Hub at the University of Cincinnati, 1000Zebras offers these benefits and more, making it a valuable resource for companies looking to grow.

Connecting with reliable service professionals is the key to success for startups and entrepreneurs. The longer it takes to find the right providers, the more progress and growth are hindered. 1000Zebras streamlines this process, offering a reliable and efficient solution for all your service needs, thereby accelerating your journey to success.

Its innovative approach can potentially disrupt the online marketplace industry, offering a fresh perspective and unique benefits.

Marketplaces — such as Airbnb, Uber and Amazon — don’t own any of the supply. Their primary function is to create a safe environment, allowing the supply and demand sides to transact efficiently and seamlessly within that environment. 1000Zebras does that but is also like Spotify, allowing you to look at others’ marketplaces to add service providers to your own, kind of like a playlist.

A digital marketplace is an online space where financial transactions occur. It solves the issue of being in a specific geolocation by connecting people who want something in demand (buyers) with those who have a service or product to sell (suppliers). Think Airbnb.

“Marketplaces — such as Airbnb, Uber and Amazon — don’t own any of the supply," Kevin Mackey, 1000Zebras founder and CEO, said. "Their primary function is to create a safe environment, allowing the supply and demand sides to transact efficiently and seamlessly within that environment. 1000Zebras does that but is also like Spotify, allowing you to look at others’ marketplaces to add service providers to your own, kind of like a playlist.”

Recently, 1000Zebras hosted the Accelerated Co-working event, which brought together students, faculty, investors and corporate partners. At the intersection of innovation and entrepreneurship, this event provided a unique setting for innovative-minded individuals to spark interactions and cultivate genuine collaborations.

Participants joined with others during the event's designated breakout sessions within the 1819 Innovation Hub building. Tackling (non-confidential) challenges, attendees gained the problem-solving perspectives of others working on the same project. The task aimed to show how professionals within the same industry or internal departments are often unaware of what others are working on unless specifically asked.

Fostering a paradigm shift in how businesses leverage their own networks, 1000Zebras equips members with a powerful tool to cultivate symbiotic relationships and achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency in an ever-evolving market landscape. A meticulously curated community of service professionals, offered by organizations that already have the trust of businesses like a real estate agent or incubator program, offers diverse expertise in finding the appropriate provider in their moment of need.

The concept of Accelerated Co-working emerged from discussions among entrepreneurs who envisioned more interactive and shared online spaces. 1000Zebras is collaborating to build an 1819 branded marketplace for businesses to find providers in their network.

“Based on feedback and the success of our initial Accelerated Co-working gathering, we will continue to broaden the program and accompanying marketplace to meet the ecosystem's needs,” Mackey added. “Our brand is all about community and integrating ecosystems, and that’s what we think Accelerated Co-working and our marketplace infrastructure can do in Cincinnati and beyond.”

The event's sponsors included 1819 corporate and startup partners, Innovation Acceleration and Main Street Ventures.
