CCM staff member recognized for community engagement work in Dada Rafiki celebration

Internationally respected and award-winning artist/poet Annie Ruth hosts a program of entertainment and inspiration in "Dada Rafiki: Conversations," streamed virtually on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. Presented in collaboration with the Cincinnati Arts Association, Cincinnati Opera and the Power of Her, the annual event is a multi-sensory artistic experience of dance, music, poetry and song. It shares the empowering stories of inspirational women who positively impact the community, including 2020 Dada Rafiki Honoree Anne Cushing-Reid, Interim Director of Preparatory and Community Engagement at UC's College-Conservatory of Music.

CCM Brass Choir presents Betty Glover tribute concert on Nov. 12

CCM celebrates the legacy of trailblazing trombonist Betty Glover in a tribute concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky. Featuring the CCM Brass Choir, the performance features student and faculty artists, guest artists from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, alumni and more.

CCM Philharmonia and Choirs present J.S. Bach's "St. Matthew Passion"

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's Orchestral and Choral programs unite to present J.S. Bach’s St. Mathew Passion at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 in Corbett Auditorium. Featuring the work of students, faculty and guest artists, the staged performance retells the story of the events leading up to the trial of Jesus, his crucifixion and burial.

FOX 19 features CCM E-Media’s ‘Hope After Hate’ project

Cincinnati news station FOX 19 interviewed UC College-Conservatory of Music E-Media Professor Hagit Limor about the innovative “Hope After Hate” project she is leading at CCM. Inspired by her own father’s experience during the Holocaust, Limor set out to create an immersive theatre and virtual reality project that shares his story with lessons to inspire action against acts of hatred and bigotry today.

Ariel Quartet featured on 'Today Show'

April 28, 2023

The Today Show featured four familiar faces in an April 27 segment. The members of the Ariel Quartet, CCM’s string quartet-in-residence, performed music and spoke during an NBC news segment highlighting Violins of Hope, an organization dedicated to restoring violins that belonged to Holocaust victims and survivors. CCM faculty members Alexandra Kazovsky and Gershon Gerchikov, who serve as the Ariel Quartet's two violinists, performed on restored instruments during the segment.
