UC College-Conservatory of Music Associate Professor of Horn Denise Tryon is the 2022 winner of The American Prize in Instrumental Performance in the professional division. Tryon was selected from applications reviewed from all across the United States.

The New York Times recently featured the East Coast premiere of "Blind Injustice," an opera based on true exonerations achieved by the Ohio Innocence Project. The production opened on Feb. 16 , 2024, at Peak Performances at Montclair State University. Premiered in 2019 at Cincinnati Opera, the opera was first workshopped through Opera Fusion: New Works (OF:NW), a collaboration between Cincinnati Opera and UC College-Conservatory of Music.

An accomplished theatre and television professional, Lawson’s appointment as Assistant Professor of Lighting Design and Technology begins on Aug. 15, 2021.

UC College-Conservatory of Music Professor of Flute Demarre McGill will join his brother, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and pianist Michael McHale for a performance featuring works for duos and trios at 5:30 pm on Dec. 6. The concert is hosted by the Shriver Hall Concert Series in Baltimore but will be broadcast on the venue’s website from Dec. 6 through Dec. 9.

A costume designer with more than 20 years of experience designing for theatre, dance and television, Payne’s appointment as Assistant Professor of Costume Design begins on Aug. 15, 2021.
