UC nursing faculty takes aim at rising maternal morbidity and mortality rates

Beth Ann Clayton, associate professor in the UC College of Nursing has been named to the National Quality Forum's Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Committee. Clayton was nominated by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and will serve as one of 25 health care experts on the committee.
UC College of Nursing faculty inspired to Give Like a Mother

Amy Vann, an adjunct visiting faculty from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing who teaches students in a clinical setting at UC Medical Center and UC Health West Chester Hospital, founded and operates Give Like a Mother, a non-profit company that collects and distributes clothing and other items for free to underprivileged families.

University, UC Health to host Tristate Opioid Symposium

UC and UC Health are hosting the third Tristate Opioid Symposium on March 25, 2020 at Kresge Auditorium. The symposium builds on the work of the UC/UC Health Opioid Task Force. Titled “Teaming Up to Take on the Opioid Epidemic,” the Tristate Opioid Symposium features guest speakers from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Johns Hopkins University and Bowling Green State University. The symposium will also feature abstracts from those doing novel research, clinical interventions, education and community outreach projects.

With the spread of the coronavirus pandemic around the world, the role of the nurse in global health care has never been more critical, and the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing is taking steps to ensure that the nursing pipeline remains robust.
