The UC College of Law begins its 174th academic year on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Among the start-of-year activities for the students will be a welcoming address from Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Mickey Barker, a member of the college's class of 1967.

Stanley M. Chesley, one of the nation's most prominent attorneys and a University of Cincinnati alum, has endowed a professorship at the UC College of Law that will allow the college to attract outstanding law scholars from around the nation and the world as visiting professors.

One of the nation's most high-profile legal figures, Harvard Law Professor Arthur R. Miller, will be teaching at the UC College of Law from Jan. 12-16 as the first Stanley M. Chesley Professor of Law. Miller, a leading expert on privacy issues, is also a familiar public figure with a long history of programs on PBS and serving for a number of years as the legal editor for ABC's "Good Morning America" program.
