The University of Cincinnati Ground Floor Makerspace and the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative (GCSC) are piloting a professional development opportunity for K-12 STEAM teachers in the greater Cincinnati region. The Makerspace Intensive will take place June 5-16 weekdays in the 1819 Innovation Hub, 2900 Reading Road in Cincinnati.

Working with various materials from basic plastics to high performance composites, a range of objects from everyday practical items to awe-inspiring works of art can be made using 3D printers.

The buzz of excitement was evident on May 6 and 7 as 90 students gathered from nine participating high schools across the region and competed in the Southwest Ohio Esports Regional Tournament. The University of Cincinnati partnered with Esports Ohio to host the tournament at the UC Esports Lab inside the 1819 Innovation Hub.
