University of Cincinnati English professor Jon Hughes and son Sean hold a month-long exhibit, Living on Cuban Tiempo: Selected Photographs Spanning 20 Years of Cuban Culture, at Cincinnati ArtWorks. The opening reception takes place on Friday, April 1, from 6 9 p.m. at ArtWorks, 811 Race St.

The University of Cincinnati Geology Department has invited Robert B. Finkelman, of the U.S. Geological Survey, to present the first Annual Rieveschl Geo Lecture. The George Rieveschl Jr. Geo Lecture Series will present interdisciplinary lectures for the physical and life sciences on earth processes and their consequences for humanity.

The Walter H. Bucher Fund, the largest endowed fund in the Geology Department, provides travel money to graduate geology students to attend meetings. It also provides money for faculty to conduct international research during the summer.
