Engineering professor awarded for STEM research

T. Douglas Mast, PhD, professor of biomedical engineering, has been at the University of Cincinnati for more than two decades. Leading the Biomedical Acoustics Laboratory at the College of Engineering and Applied Science, he and his team investigate a multitude of diagnostic applications including ultrasound for thermal ablation, drug delivery, and speech and swallowing disorders. He was awarded the 2025 UC STEMM Distinguished Research Professor Award for his research impact.

UC student Jaysa Kleiber leads the way with IDD research

A senior Special Education major at the University of Cincinnati, Jaysa Kleiber was initially drawn to the university by the variety of educational opportunities the program offered. Chief among these experiences has been her role in an intervention research project with the Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) Education Center, helping associates learn skills to share experiences via social media.

Multi-institutional team awarded NCI grant to open novel AML trial

The University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and Jabez Biosciences are partnering to open a new phase 1 clinical trial studying JBZ-001, a potential new treatment for acute myeloid leukemia, funded by a National Cancer Institute grant.

UC metallurgist exploring corrosion rates of marine alloys

Matt Steiner, assistant professor of materials science and engineering at the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science has received the NSF CAREER Award.
