CCM ranks in top 10 most represented colleges on Broadway

Playbill names CCM as one of Broadway's "Big 10" for the current crop of actors

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music has once again been named as one of Playbill’s “Big 10.” Ranked as one of the top star-producing institutions in the nation, CCM was represented by at least 37 alumni performing on Broadway stages during the 2023-24 season according to Playbill's coverage. 

Playbill looked at every actor who performed in a Broadway show from April 28, 2023 to April 25, 2024, which coincides with the Tony eligibility for this season. CCM alumni named on Playbill's list of Broadway actors include:

In addition to Playbill's Broadway rankings, CCM alumni were also featured in Playbill's story about 25 Broadway professionals who shared their training. This story included Kristen Blodgette (BM Piano, '76) who served as music director and conductor on Broadway's Sweeney ToddIsabella Byrd (BFA Lighting Design and Technology, ’09), who received two 2024 Tony Award Nominations for Best Lighting Design of a Play for An Enemy of the People and Best Lighting Design of a Musical for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club; and Dorian Harewood (BFA Musical Theatre, '24), who received a 2024 Tony Award Nomination for his performance as Older Noah in The Notebook.

Although Playbill's ranking story only spotlights the actors on stage, CCM alumni are working throughout Broadway on stage and behind the scenes. Our Broadway alumni also include:
