“We’re excited to invite faculty and staff to be part of this innovative initiative,” said UC Vice President & Chief Digital Officer Bharath Prabhakaran. “We look forward to partnering with you in this exciting journey to advance AI capabilities at UC.”

Azure OpenAI is a powerful tool that makes cutting-edge AI accessible and useful for a wide range of applications. Developers can quickly and easily access a wide range of AI models including natural language processing, computer vision, and more. OpenAI Service provides a simple and easy-to-use API that makes it easy to get started with AI.

The pilot, which will support up to 1,000 concurrent users over the academic year, offers UC a unique opportunity to explore how AI can be used in research projects, coursework, course analysis, and process automation.

“As with any AI platform, it's important to evaluate potential impacts to ensure that AI is used responsibly, securely, and ethically,” said DTS Assistant Vice President Josette Riep. “This pilot offers the UC community an opportunity to do just that.”
