Personal pronoun option coming to Microsoft 365 this month

Students, faculty and staff soon will have the option to add a preferred pronoun to their Microsoft 365 profile card. UC Digital Technology Solutions will enable the personal pronoun option within Microsoft 365 on Oct. 8.

“This change supports the inclusion pillar of Next Lives Here by allowing our community to communicate with one another in a more inclusive way that values our unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives,” UC Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Bharath Prabhakaran said.

How-to instructions

Personal pronouns in Microsoft 365 can be set via Microsoft Teams or Outlook on the Web

For detailed instructions on how to set these, please review this Microsoft Support article. When you set your personal pronouns within Microsoft 365, they are only visible to others within Microsoft 365 at UC and do not sync with any other system.
