Studio Sessions at DAAP

UC graduate student launches podcast inviting students to share their experiences.

Delfina Lassalle, a master of design major, has introduced a new podcast - called Studio Sessions at DAAP - for students to share personal experiences and engage in discussions on various topics focusing on student development.

Lassalle, who works as the social media manager for the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP), says she sees the podcast as an innovative way to share the DAAP experience from a student's perspective.

“I love that I could create a space for students to openly talk about their fields of study. They don’t need to have an award or achieved something extraordinary—just being themselves is enough. The podcast lets them dive deep into their experiences, showcasing how fascinating their unique stories truly are,” says Lassalle.

Although she frequently posts about events happening at the college and highlights student work and achievements, she says she decided to create the outlet after noticing the growing popularity of podcasts as a place where people engage in conversation and tune in for inspiration.

Podcast topics range from CO-OP experiences and transferring to DAAP, to international students' perspectives and exploring programs within the college.

Lassalle says all students are encouraged to participate in the podcast, sharing their unique stories by answering questions commonly asked by prospective students.

An international student from Argentina with a background in audio visual communication and design studies, Lasalle graduated from the Universidad Blas Pascal before deciding to further her studies at UC.

“I chose DAAP to pursue my master’s degree because I value the freedom of creativity and the diverse environment. I also was interested in the CO-OP program that is offered for students,” says Lassalle.

As an international student, she says she was often curious about other students’ stories and now her skills in social media management allow her to combine both interests into her work.

Studio sessions at DAAP episodes are available on Spotify and YouTube for users to listen anywhere at any time. New episodes are posted regularly, with each one diving into a new topic.
