Small businesses may face the biggest challenges from tariffs

Lindner economics expert weighs in on trade troubles for Spectrum News 1

Small businesses that acquire inventory from overseas are feeling the waves from trade uncertainty. 

Gary Painter, PhD, academic director of real estate at Lindner, spoke with Spectrum News 1 on the impact large economic shifts can have on small businesses. He said tariffs can leave small business owners feeling lost on how to navigate and manage their inventory.

“They’re in a situation where this tariff regime — which again has these two components of higher costs and/or unknown tariff rates — they’re kind of stuck not knowing what is the best path forward,” Painter said.
