TODAY: War on Terrorism: Joint Chiefs' Assistant To Present Update
Capt. T. L. McCreary, a Navy public affairs specialist serving as special assistant for public affairs to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will discuss the war on terrorism in a presentation at UC's Zimmer Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.
The presentation was organized by UC's Army ROTC.
The captain oversees all aspects of Gen. Richard B. Myers' interaction as chairman of the Joint Chiefs with national and international media, other public appearances and public correspondence. In addition, McCreary and his staff also support the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, other flag and general officers assigned to the Joint Staff and manage public affairs support to joint operations.
A 1978 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, Capt. MCreary began his naval career as a surface warfare officer in the Pacific Fleet. He also completed a master's degree in mass communication/public relations at San Diego State University. He is the former news director for Navy News This Week, the Navy's half hour internal TV news show.
