Whole Community Wins with Crosstown Helpout
Crosstown rivals the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University will become partners in the annual Crosstown Helpout set for
Saturday, Feb. 1
.
The Helpout will match up teams of students, alumni, fans and friends of both universities who will then work together to benefit urban schools, community centers and service agencies in need of cleaning and basic repair. About 550 participants are expected to lend a hand, a broom or a brush that day, first gathering from 8-8:30 a.m. at XUs Cintas Center. Then, volunteers will work from about 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 37 agencies, schools and centers in Bond Hill, Clifton, College Hill, Corryville, Covington, the East End, Milford, Mt. Washington, Newport, North Avondale, Over-the-Rhine, Roselawn and other communities.
