Tug-of-War, Duct Tape Contests Highlight E-Week
UC students will celebrate National Engineering Week by putting up their calculators and letting down their hair Feb. 16-22. E-Week 2003 is a seven-day celebration designed to increase awareness and appreciation for the profession and promote camaraderie and cooperation between the students and faculty.
On the UC campus, engineering students will spend the week participating in engineering-related contests, workshops, parties, banquets and a blood drive. Among the highly visual and entertaining events will be a duct tape competition. The teams will be given a role of duct tape and have five minutes to secure a volunteer to windows on the third floor of Zimmer Hall: last student aloft wins.
The Engineering Tribunal (UCET), one of the largest student organizations on campus, sponsors the celebration. Regular activities of UCET include a big brother/big sister program, co-op information programs, and professional standards review committees.
