Sandra W. Heimann Appointed to UC's Board of Trustees
Sandra W. Heimann, vice president of American Financial Corporation and Great American Insurance Company, has been appointed to the UC Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Bob Taft.
The appointment was announced by Taft in a news release on Feb. 25.
Heimanns term extends through Jan.1, 2012. She replaces Benjamin Gettler, of Cincinnati, whose term expired.
"Sandy Heimann has had a long association with the University of Cincinnati and is one of our strongest supporters. It is good to have such a distinguished individual selected for this position, especially someone who has been so actively involved with university initiatives, from academics to health care to athletics, said UC President Joseph A. Steger. Her long-term interest has certainly prepared her for a place on the board, and I look forward to working with her in this new role.
In addition to her position at American Financial and Great American, Heimann is very involved within the community. She serves as a director of Drake Planetarium, the Tri-State Foundation, The Cincinnati Zoo, Advisory Board of the Medical Center Fund at the University of Cincinnati, the Carl H. Lindner Jr. Honors-PLUS Business Task Force at the University of Cincinnati and UCATS.
