Bridgeman to Lecture on Terrorism Tools and Threats

An upcoming lecture at the University of Cincinnati will offer insights into homeland security and the threats posed by terrorists.

Terrorism expert Ed Bridgeman will present "B-Nice: WMD for a New Day" as part of the Graduate Seminars on the Enrivonment series, presented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and UC. Bridgeman's talk, which is free and open to the public, is set for Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. in Room 427 of the Engineering Research Center.

Bridgeman, chair of the criminal justice program at UC's Clermont College, is an internationally known expert on terrorism.

His talk will detail the new threats from terrorism facing our society, in areas including biological, nuclear, incendiary, chemical and explosive weapons. Bridgeman will discuss the types of attacks we are most likely to see in the future, as well as terrorist motivations and why these types of attacks are attractive to them.

For additional information on the lecture series, contact Pasquale V. Scarpino, UC professor of environmental engineering and health, at (513) 556-3738.
