UC Students Make A Move Against Hunger
UC students moving into the residence halls Sept. 18-19 are taking up a new challenge.
The Move in Against Hunger, sponsored by UCs Just Community initiative and Resident Education and Development, invites students who are moving onto campus to bring two canned goods to donate to the community.
"I am proud that colleagues in the residence halls are acting on one of the Just Community principles that the university will emphasize this year -- Accepting Responsibility," said Mitchel D. Livingston, UC vice president for Student Affairs and Services.
Collection barrels will be in each residence hall lobby as students arrive. The food drive will be held through Sept. 23, the day before classes begin.
All donations will benefit the FreeStore Foodbank in Over-the-Rhine. The UC sponsors are challenging students to raise 5,000 pounds of food to benefit the areas hungry families.
