New UC Students Like the Convenience of On-Site Admissions

In its first week, UC’s On-Site streamlined admissions program is getting an enthusiastic “thumbs-up” from students who were admitted in time for UC’s fall quarter.

On-Site Admissions started Monday, Aug. 4. In the week that the service became available, 70 newly signed-up UC students visited the On-Site headquarters, located on the third floor of University Pavilion. The program, adaptable to the student’s busy schedule, allows students to come in on their own time to apply for admission, financial aid counseling and placement testing, as well as arrange for registration, academic advising and an orientation session.

“About half of the students who used On-Site the first week were freshmen – the other half were transfer students,” says Jonathan Weller, assistant director of admissions. “Students say they like On-Site because it’s quick and convenient.”

And there are still five more weeks for potential students to sign up for fall classes through UC’s On-Site. The program runs through Wednesday, Sept. 17 – the last day to confirm admission for the Clifton campus.
