"Moving Sculpture" Michael Cooper To Perform in Children's Arts Series
Michael Coopers one-man extravaganza, Masked Marvels and Wondertales, comes to Raymond Walters College on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 as part of the ARTrageous Saturdays performing arts series for children.
Coopers larger-than-life handcrafted masks, original stories of courage and wonder, and outlandish stilt dancing are sure to please children of all ages. Masked Marvels and Wondertales has been seen around the world at the Hong Kong International Childrens Festival, The Dublin Theater Festival and other locations across the United States.
Taking up to 300 hours to produce a single paper, cloth or wooden mask, Cooper has elevated this ancient theater craft to the level of fine art, mixed with his own poetic whimsy.
Single tickets for Masked Marvels and Wondertales are $3 and go on sale January 12; group rates are available.
For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Raymond Walters College Ticket Line at (513) 745-5705.
