UC Sports Researcher Says Fans Will Forgive Pete Rose

Kevin Grace, a University of Cincinnati adjunct assistant professor and assistant head of Archives, is an author and nationally recognized sports researcher who explores the social issues surrounding sports. Grace says if Rose admits he bet on baseball, there will be an outpouring of fan support for him.

"He's been America's sport outlaw for the past 13 years and he has been successful at it. This is a forgiving nation, and if Pete says he's sorry, I believe America will wrap him in its arms again and he'll go into the Hall of Fame."

Grace teaches courses and conducts research on the social history of baseball, exploring corruption, media, marketing, gender, race and violence. His most recent book is titled, Cincinnati Hoops.

Grace is currently at work on a book tracing the history of the Cincinnati Reds from 1948-1984. He can be reached at his office at (513) 556-1953.
