Michal Polak

(biological sciences) recently received a grant of $308,018 from the National Science Foundation for research on “Costs of Resistance in a Natural Host-Parasite System."

Bill Heineman

(chemistry) was awarded the ’03-04 Award for Excellence in Mentoring of Doctoral Students, which is awarded by the Office of Advanced Studies and Research.

Guy Cameron

(biological sciences) is president-elect of the American Society of Mammalogists. Established in 1919 to promote the study of mammals, ASM is composed primarily of professional scientists who are involved in providing information for public policy creation, resource management, conservation, and education. The society has an international membership of nearly 5000. Cameron will be installed at the 84th annual meeting, which will be held June 11-16, at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California.
