Barrett Earns UC's Highest Award
John Barrett was born and raised in Cincinnati, and received his education at the University of Cincinnati. He is a long-standing proponent and active promoter of the University in general, and the Medical Center in particular. It is widely known that the Barrett Cancer Center, which was named for the Barrett family, is a world-class facility, providing top-notch care and treatment for patients and families from every socio-economic level. This level of care would not be available without the dedicated, enthusiastic and economic support of Mr. Barrett. He is a tireless fundraiser and outstanding spokesperson for both the Cancer Center and the Medical Center.
In addition, his interests extend to the University and all its diverse educational opportunities. He gives invaluable financial support while also giving generously of his time and resources.
John is a devoted father and husband, and an exemplary advocate of the City of Cincinnati. He is an outstanding businessman and community leader. He has served on countless boards and committees, and his contributions have benefited innumerable artistic, educational and civic organizations.
