Pictures Say It All: Highlights of Commencement 2004
Smiles, tears, hugs and cheers its all part of graduation day at the University of Cincinnati. UC held its all-university commencement on June 11 with featured speaker and human rights activist Coretta Scott King. Mrs. King was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters because of her lifelong dedication to human rights.
One UC graduate had more than her degree to celebrate. Samantha Gad won a three-year lease on a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle convertible from the UC Alumni Association and Northgate Volkswagen. Each graduate who participated in Commencement received a free C-Paw key chain with a designated number. After 20 numbers were selected from that pool, the final 20 received a key that they hoped would start the car. It was Gads key that got the car started. It had been on display in Tangeman University Center.
