Master Plan in Motion

The McMicken College has been working with the Univeristy Architect's Office to develop a space master plan for the college. This plan unifies and organizes the major construction and building renovation projects for the college for the next decade. The proposed projects include a new Social & Behavioral Sciences Building on the site of Wilson Auditorium, renovations of Blegen, McMicken and the Old Chemistry Building, and a new science complex for Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Studies, to be created by demolishing and replacing Crosley Tower and renovating Rieveschl Hall.

These projects give the McMicken College a major role in the next phase of the university's space master plan, and will provide the college with the learning spaces, research facilities and offices appropriate for a 21st century university. The McMicken space master plan, and the larger university space master plan, are now beginning their approval process, and will be presented to the University Board of Trustees later this year. Approval of the space plan does not guarantee funding or construction, but will set the agenda for funding efforts and construction plans for the coming years.
