Programs Abroad Expo Details International Options For UC Community
More than 40 booths representing programs in more than 45 countries will be featured in the University of Cincinnatis second Programs Abroad Expo. The expo, sponsored by UCs Institute for Global Studies and Affairs, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, in the Great Hall of the newly renovated Tangeman University Center.
UC students will have the chance to learn about UC programs offering overseas study, as well as programs offered by other universities and exchange organizations. Door prizes, including five $100 Bearcat Cash Card awards, will be given away in random drawings, as will travel bags, mugs, water bottles and Lonely Planet travel guides. There will also be refreshments and snacks.
"This will be a chance for UC students to have face-to-face interaction with a variety of representatives involved in for-credit and work-related study abroad programs. Without leaving campus, they will be able to get an insiders view," says Karen Ramos, UC Education Abroad Program Manager and expo organizer.
In addition to booths, there will be several short sessions on international co-op, study abroad and scholarship opportunities.
UC faculty and administrators will be available to discuss programs in destinations including Italy; Queretaro, Mexico; Nagoya, Japan; and Munich and Berlin, Germany. Extensive information will also be available about international program options from the College of Business; International Co-op; urban planning; the School of Design; Romance Languages; the College of Applied Science; and Honors Scholars; as well as the annual international arts tour and Raymond Walters Colleges study abroad programs.
