Architect Chosen for Social and Behavioral Sciences Center

The Executive Committee for the Social and Behavioral Sciences Center (SBSC) project has recommended the selection of the architectural firm of Zimmer Gunsul Frasca for the SBSC project. The University Architect’s office, in consultation with the local architectural firm on our project, BHDP (www.bhdp.com

), has entered into negotiations with ZGF regarding the project contract and the design phase that will be initiated once the contract is signed.

As soon as the contract is signed and the architectural firm selection has been made official, ZGF team members will be visiting McMicken departments to begin their work of gathering as much information as they can regarding units, aspirations for the building, and the ways in which faculty, staff, and students anticipate interacting in this new space.

In addition to designing beautiful, highly functional academic buildings, ZGF has a strong reputation nationally for its thorough and conscientious approach to sustainable design and for its careful attention to detail and finish. McMicken College can expect the very best from them.

This is a very exciting time for the social and behavioral sciences in McMicken college, there are now have two outstanding architectural firms associated with the project.
