SAP America, Inc., Awards $675,000 Gift to University of Cincinnati College of Business
SAP America, Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG, has awarded a $675,000 gift over five years to the University of Cincinnati College of Business (CoB) to implement a visionary corporate-university partnership, the SAP Enterprise Systems Initiative.
The Initiative designed to integrate program innovations, a state-of-the-art lab facility and world-class faculty expertise will give students a comprehensive approach to learning business technology. The program will be a prominent theme in the University of Cincinnatis undergraduate and MBA programs, and will foster student understanding of business technology through hands-on experience. Core courses will include a technology module that integrates technology into basic learning, so students can examine technologys impact on and across various business functions.
The ultimate goal of this gift is to help educators better prepare students to compete in the technically sophisticated workforce of the future, said Mark White, CFO, SAP America, Inc., and a CoB alumnus. More and more companies will hire graduates who have business technology experience.
The partnership will help students to become immersed in business technology throughout their studies at the college. The SAP gift will fund program innovations to enable students to examine the impact of technology on different business functions. The gift also provides a new lab facility, with student work areas and group project rooms that will give students hands-on experience with leading technologies.
Key to the program are SAP Fellows faculty who will be selected based on their technology expertise. Fellows will serve as resident experts and resources to students and will be charged with building students understandings of business technology and its applications.
The SAP Enterprise Systems Initiative is a wonderful extension of our long-standing relationship with SAP, said Michael Magazine, Interim Dean of the College of Business. The College of Business is thrilled to be an academic partner with SAP and to take this relationship to the next level.
