UC Collects Supplies For Cincinnati School

As local schoolchildren prepare to head back to the classroom soon, the University of Cincinnati is pitching in to help them be well equipped for learning.   UC's Division of Student Affairs and Services is coordinating the second annual all-University school supply drive to benefit students and teachers in the Cincinnati Public Schools.  From Thursday, August 4 to Tuesday, August 16, UC employees may donate supplies.

"Our primary beneficiary will be the Academy of World Languages, a magnet school," said Mitchel D. Livingston, UC's vice president for student affairs and services. " AWL students range from pre-school to eighth grade; about 35% of the students are from outside the U.S."

Donations should be new items, Livingston said, and be  consistent with the listed items below.  Employees may make a monetary donation to this effort, by check payable to the University of Cincinnati with “school supplies” in the memo line. These donations will be used to purchase any items still in short supply at the conclusion of the drive.Donations may be sent to:

     University of Cincinnati
     PO Box 210045
     Cincinnati, OH 45221-0045

For additional information, contact UC's Office of Resident Education and Development at 513-556-6476.

"Please join us helping our neighbors and future students get off to the best possible start in the new school year," Livingston said.
