College Cookout Kicks Off Celebrating A Century
The traditional welcome back barbecue, hosted by the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, turned even more celebratory this year, as faculty and staff wore special black-and-gold shirts commemorating the colleges 100th anniversary.
Each year, Dean Lawrence J. Johnson gears up for the grill with his prize-winning homemade barbecue sauce. This year, the college was expecting 1,600 hungry guests to stop by. The cooler, crisp fall day was a welcome break for the food line, as the college dished out 100 pounds of ribs, 40 pounds of chicken and hundreds of hamburgers and hotdogs, plus an array of homemade side dishes.
