CNN Hosts McMicken Image Consultant

If you’re concerned about the problem of rudeness in America, you might want information and advice from LisaMarie Luccioni, who recently appeared on CNN’s 360 show with Anderson Cooper. The other guest, Letita Baldridge, was the former social secretary for Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

An adjunct associate professor for 16 years, Luccioni developed and implemented a seminar and course on business etiquette and professional image that was officially begun in the College of Business but has expanded to other colleges and is now offered out of UC’s Executive Education program.

As a certified image consultant and president of the Ohio chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), Luccioni says that so many students had questions about professional attire and grooming that she felt compelled to study the subject herself. She adds that the time was well spent. Not only has she been able to put her knowledge to use at UC, but she is “increasingly being asked to present to both corporate and governmental audiences on the topic because there is such a need for this information.”

For many undergraduates, the journey through college rarely takes the expected track. Detours happen, and majors change. When plans switch up, it can be helpful to a student’s success to find support. For Jarrell, it was the people he worked alongside in the journalism department who helped him on his journey.
