UC Clermont Inducts Three New Members into Athletic Hall of Fame
UC Clermont College announced its 2006 Athletic Hall of Fame recipients at an athletic banquet held recently. The 2006 Hall of Fame inductees are: Meagan Ooten, Scott Nelson, and Donna Lauver.
Felicity High School graduate Meagan Ooten, was a three-year starter and captain on the Lady Cougars volleyball. She was named twice as a member of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference (ORCC) All-Star Team and was the UC Clermont Student Athlete of the Year for 2004-05. Ooten is a graduate of UC Clermont and is employed by the college as a Records Management Officer.
Scott Nelson, a graduate of Turpin High School, was a four-year mens basketball starter at UC Clermont and held the Cougars career all-time leading scoring mark with 2,127 points until this season when it was surpassed. He was a three-time ORCC all-star and an all-star in various tournaments. In 2002, he served as the Cougars assistant mens coach. He earned his bachelors degree in business administration and is an account executive with WKRC television.
Since 1989, Donna Lauver has served the college as: a student workers program coordinator, coach, professor, and academic advisor, and scorekeeper for the mens basketball program. She was the first head womens volleyball coach and created the student-athlete advisor position and represented the school as a member of the National Association of Athletic Academic Advisors. She has been the assistant coach of the mens golf team led by her husband Joe Lauver. She is an assistant professor of business at Clermont College as well as a faculty member at Nagel Middle School.
