UC Clermont College holds Edible Book festival

UC Clermont College held its first Edible Book Festival on April 17, 2006.

The event was a cooperative project of the UC Clermont College Library and the Art program.  The 18 entries were judged by English faculty members Tom Dinsmore and Kim Jacobs.

“

The Edible Book is a creation of Judith A. Hoffberg and Béatrice Coron of New York. Hoffberg came up with the idea over a Thanksgiving and Coron created the Books2Eat website.

The International Edible Book Festival began in 2000. According to the Books2Eat website, this event unites bibliophiles, book artists and food lovers to celebrate the ingestion of culture and its fulfilling nourishment. Participants create edible books that are exhibited, documented then consumed.
