UC Clermont College Honors Outstanding Faculty and Staff at Reception

UC Clermont College recently honored the recipients of its 2005-06 Outstanding Faculty awards at a celebration held on campus. Students nominated and voted for full-time and part-time faculty members for awards in Excellence in Teaching and Promoting Faculty/Student Relations.

The college also celebrated the service and achievements of more than 100 faculty and staff over the academic year.

The students’ choice for the Excellence in Teaching award for a full-time faculty member was Bruce Davis, assistant professor of paralegal studies. Jeff Bauer, assistant professor of business, will serve as Clermont College’s nominee for the University of Cincinnati A.B. (Dolly) Cohen award. The students’ choice for the Excellence in Teaching award for a part-time faculty member was Rebecca Erdman.

The students’ choice for the Promoting Faculty/Student Relations award for a full-time faculty member was Greg Loving, assistant professor of humanities and social sciences. Tracey Hawkins, associate professor of accounting, will serve as Clermont College’s nominee for the University of Cincinnati George B. Barbour award. The students’ choice for the Promoting Faculty/Student Relations award for a part-time faculty member was a tie between Arthur Jonas and Larry Scholl.

Trey Fitch, an assistant professor of humanities and social sciences at UC Clermont, is in charge of the college’s Faculty Awards and Scholarship Committee. The awards tend to be more meaningful to faculty than other honors because winners are chosen by students, he said.

"Getting one of these awards is reaffirming because currently it is the only student-to-faculty award given," Fitch said.
