DAAP Designs to Receive National Recognition

The University of Cincinnati’s internationally recognized College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning will be represented by three award-winning designs in the December 2006 issue of Graphic Design USA.

Included in the magazine’s annual awards issue will be three designs by Kristin Cullen, assistant professor of graphic design. Specific projects to be featured will be

  • the 2005-2006 DAAP Lecture Series poster

  • the 2006 DAAPWorks poster (DAAPWorks is the college’s annual, end-of-year exhibit of student works.)

  • Layout Workbook: A Real World Guide to Creating Powerful Pieces (Rockport Publishers)

Cullen, who for years worked at award-winning Chicago design firms before joining DAAP, designed all of these works and also authored the Layout Workbook. Assisting her with the DAAPWorks poster was graphic design co-op student Robin Mattis, currently a senior set to graduate in June 2007.

A panel of working professionals from throughout the U.S. served as the judges for the 2006 American Graphic Design Awards, to be featured in Graphic Design USA.
