Pianopalooza Returns Faster, Louder and More Foolish
After a standing-room-only debut last year, Pianopalooza is back!
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) Piano Department presents this second annual benefit event, a cavalcade of performances from all six of CCM's piano faculty: Michael Chertock, Awadagin Pratt, Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff, James Tocco and Frank Weinstock. Pianopalooza takes over CCM's Corbett Auditorium on Sunday, April 1, at 4 p.m, with Fox 19's Jack Atherton as the event's emcee.
Pianopalooza II promises to be an exhilarating event, featuring both solo and ensemble music spanning genres and boundaries. A perfect listening opportunity for the student, the accomplished teacher and the merely curious, the concert will include Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Chopin's monumental Fourth Ballade, Gao Ping's intense portrait of the Argentinean tango, Dance Fury, plus a thrilling twelve-handed finale.
Tickets to Pianopalooza are $15 and proceeds benefit the CCM Piano Department. Call the CCM Box Office at 513-556-4183 to order.
